Dr. Robert S. Shumake Appointed World Chairman of International Human Rights Commission

The International Human Rights Commission, founded in 1988 to protect the human rights of people around the world, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Robert S. Shumake as its new World Chairman effective February 2019.

The International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) protects human rights and promotes the culture of peace using its network. The Commission organizes relief activities and assistance programs via its organ, the IHRC Relief Fund Trust, which holds a Consultative Status from the United Nations ECOSOC. IHRC is also an accredited member of the United Nations Environmental Program, which accreditation has been received through its work in Kenya and other parts of the world relating to its clean water projects.

As the new World Chairman of IHRC, Dr. Shumake will further promote the Commission’s mission to gather resources and funds for bettering healthy living conditions of displaced people housed in relief camps. The Commission stands with victims and activists to eliminate discrimination defend political freedom and protect people from inhumane conduct during wartime.

Dr. Shumake is a global private equity investor and real estate developer. He is the CEO of Shumake Global Partners, L3C, which offers socially beneficial services in areas such as technology, real estate, gaming, energy, healthcare and finance. Dr. Shumake is a past honorary consul to Botswana and Tanzania.

Among his initiatives to support the youth, Dr. Shumake founded The Robert S. Shumake Scholarships Relays which has assisted over 10,000 student athletes since inception. Additionally, his family foundation, The Shumake Family and Friends Foundation, has granted over 200 college scholarships. His global initiatives also include The Shumake Legacy Academy, which educates over 3,000 HIV infected orphans in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Dr. Shumake is the author of two books, ‘Climbing your Inner Mountain’ and ‘For Entrepreneurs who Considered Suicide when Business Got Tough’.

Among its recent initiatives, IHRC is currently raising funds for water projects in Kenya. The need for water in this country as elsewhere is immense, and Dr. Shumake invites and welcomes all support and promotion for this initiative via social media.
